Accessibility Statement
Last updated: May 2026
Reunite is committed to making our reunion planning platform accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that the joy of reconnecting with classmates should not depend on whether or not someone can see, hear, or operate a mouse.
Our commitment
We are working to ensure Reunite conforms with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, an internationally recognized standard developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
What we've done so far
- Used semantic HTML throughout the site so screen readers can interpret content correctly
- Added meaningful alternative text for informational images, and marked decorative images so screen readers skip them
- Ensured text contrast ratios meet WCAG AA standards on key pages
- Added a "Skip to main content" link so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass repeated navigation
- Made sure interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields) have visible focus indicators when navigated via keyboard
- Used proper form labels associated with input fields
- Declared page language so screen readers pronounce content correctly
Known limitations
We are honest about where we are in this journey. The following are known areas where we are still working to improve:
- Some interactive components (modals, dropdowns) may not yet fully support all assistive technologies
- Some images on user-generated content (such as logos uploaded by reunion organizers) may not have alternative text
- Email notifications and PDFs sent from Reunite have not yet been fully audited for accessibility
- We have not yet completed manual testing with every major screen reader (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
We're a small team and we're listening. If you encounter an accessibility barrier on Reunite, please tell us — we'll work to fix it. Your feedback helps us prioritize where to invest our improvements.
How to report an accessibility issue
If you experience any difficulty accessing content or functionality on Reunite, please contact us. We will do our best to respond within five business days and provide the information you need in an accessible format.
